Winter Edition 2009 v3 - a podcast by Keith a.k.a. K j A M

There are so many great Erasure songs, it's often hard to pick a favorite.  However, "Star" is a personal favorite and every time I hear the refrain "sent you money, sent you flowers, could worship you for hours" I conjure up memories of a certain someone from my past.  On this Valentine's Day, I thought we could use a good dose of sentimental reasoning and this just seemed like the perfect fit.

I've got more on my plate today.  After I get this post up, I need to go get a haircut, a pedicure and manicure (I'm too lazy), pick up an orchid (an overrated and overpriced stick with a bloom on it) for my betrothed.  It's his favorite, so who am I to deny him.  I think the last one I ever bought was for my date with Kyle (a girl) my senior prom.  Her boobs were practically hanging out of her dress and I didn't feel comfortable pinning it on her in front of her parents, so her mom put it on.  I digress.  After that, I need to head over to Macy's to see about buying Rick a watch, which he desperately needs.  For the most part, we never do anything for VD other than have a nice dinner. Whether in a favorite restaurant that we can't afford or at home since Rick is a fabulous cook (the kind you dread when you get into a relationship for fear of packing on the pounds) that's about the extent of our day of amore.  I've generally considered this holiday to be one of the most useless.  Why do you need a single day to show someone you love them?  Truth is, every day should be Valentine's Day if you truly care about someone.  Your actions, your words and kind gestures throughout the year should be enough to prove your sincerity and devotion.  Again, I digress.

God is love, God is war

TV-preacher tell me more

Father help me am I pure?

As pure as pure as heaven

Sent you money sent you flowers

Could worship you for hours

In whose hands are we anyway?

Go waiting for the stars

To come showering down

From Moscow to Mars

Universe falling down

I plan on taking next week off since I've got a heavy agenda that I'm trying to square away.  I don't think I've mentioned it, but I've decided to go back to school and further my education.  Oh, joy.  It's something I had been meaning to do, but when I was working for AT&T, I was putting in 60+ hours a week and another 2 hours on the road to and from work every day, so school was out of the question.  Anyway, I've got to schedule some appointments with the university and get my transcripts and then check into some possible Pell Grants or financial assistance.  I realize all these things take time, so I'm hoping to get it squared away this next week.  I guess you can expect my next post to be the week after when I roll out the first T-Dance edition of the year.  For those of you that don't remember, it will be the equivalent of the "House Edition".  In the interim, there are some Guest DJ mixes I'll be posting on the blog this next week.  So, if anyone else has something they want to be promoted, just drop me an email and I'll be sure to post it.

I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day and if you don't have someone to share it with, then go out, get drunk and get laid...LOL!  I'll be back the week after next...until then, ENJOY!
