As I sit here waiting for the 2 inches of snow that was predicted to fall, I can’t help but wonder about all those folks on the east coast or even in the UK that have been buried underneath the stuff for much of the year. To someone like me in the south, it’s pretty and fun. Sure it can wreak havoc on the roads, as us backward folks don’t know how to drive in it. For me, I can appreciate the wonderment of it, but I wouldn’t want to live, much less be stranded in it for any period of time. Then again, it will last a day and the sun will be out tomorrow and melt it and all of its beauty away. That being said, it is with great pleasure that I bring you the 2010 Winter Edition.

Not unlike an episode of “Project Runway” where one day you’re in and the next day you’re out, the Winter Edition will give way to the Spring Edition and we know what that means, right? Gay Days is right around the corner! I, like much of you, am always ready to move on to the next thing. Dance music is typically fleeting with several memorable moments caught on the dancefloor or even in the gym throughout the year. But let’s face it, it lasts about as long as a one night stand. You get up and look over at the drudge you’ll pull out of the club the night before and think to yourself, “NEXT!” Now I could lead into this useless holiday that’s right around the corner, but I think I’ll save it for tomorrow’s post. Hey, a girl doesn’t just give it up all at once, even if she is on a roll!

In the meantime, I’m serving up a heaping platter of Party Favorz! While I don’t want anyone to get too full, because we still have desert tomorrow, there are definitely some choice selections on today’s menu. Starting with the always fabulous Miss Mary, “I Am” proves her place in dance music heaven is rightfully reserved. Granted, Geffen didn’t put out any official mixes for the single, but Nick Harvey swooped in a delivered a massive uplifting bag of joy with his production. This is followed by a surefire floor filler “Party Around the World.” With Jason Dottley’s snarky phrasing backed by Debbie Holiday’s massive vocals, this Barry Harris production hits all the right notes with its island party grooves.

Our girl Andrea Carnell is back with a classic 90s remake that has already been burning up dancefloors around the globe with “Don’t Stop Movin.” With HUGE vocals that could give Kristine W a run for her money and a powerhouse production by Klubjumpers, this one’s heading to the top! Speaking of massive vocals, Kimberly Davis really delivers the goods on “Get Up.” Ladies, we’re talking ANTHEM!

And what would this set be without the already massive comeback single “Louis Vuitton's” oops, I meant “Louboutins” by J-Lo. I think this must be the third version that appeared on any of my podcasts since December. Expect one final take as the Moto Blanco mix will be delivered on my upcoming T-Dance Edition. Other goodies include newcomer Selena Gomez’ “Naturally” and the “Housewives of Atlanta” reality star Kim Zolciak’s “Tardy for the Party.” Okay, okay I know she can’t sing, but give the woman her due. Everyone wants to prolong their fame beyond the allotted 15 minutes and with voice disguisers, why not?

That’s a wrap! I’ll be back tomorrow with volume 2. Right now, I’ve got snow on my mind and it still ain’t here! I guess no sissy snowman for me.

Until tomorrow, ENJOY!
