Maleficiary to Beneficiary III - a podcast by Chukwudum Obi

A Maleficiary is an innocent who bears the consequences of someone’s action.

It is slightly different from a scapegoat because a maleficiary is not only innocent but in some cases, unaware of the wrong action he/she is suffering the consequences of.

Sorry for using this example.

An unborn child can suffer the consequences of the mother’s actions while she is pregnant with the child. If the mother is an opioid addict, the unborn child might be born with NAS (Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome); and this is a life changing condition for that baby. Some of the symptoms of NAS are seizures, birth defects, tremors, high pitch crying, fever to mention a few.

I saw a documentary on this and I was raving mad when I saw the little baby trembling and seizing. The baby didn’t ask for it, is totally oblivious of the fact that the mother is an addict, THE BABY DIDN’T CHOOSE his/her mother. But has to live with the consequences of another’s action.

I was so mad at the mothers that put their babies through this hell and in the moment, it flashed into my heart that I was a maleficiary as well.

I was going through rigors, tremors, fever and extreme discomfort because of what Adam did. He’s long gone but the consequences are still evident until GOD did something about it 2,000 years ago. I was born into this world with ancient ordinances working against me - Colossians 2:14

I fell short of the Glory of God, I lost my right standing with God, I was separated from God; and I consequently ‘died’, this means my spirit which is from God was disconnected from Him.

Alleluia!!! Jesus turned me from a Maleficiary to a Beneficiary.
