The New England Patriots offense hasn't looked good since week 2 against the Miami Dolphins. Players have rotated in and out of the offense at receiver, tight end, and on the offensive line and there has yet to be a grouping that finds consistent success. Outside of Julian Edelman and James White, the Patriots seem to be without many options for Tom Brady.
And unlike last year, the Patriots don't have the infrastructure to overcome these issues on the ground. They're down to their third-string center, they're out of fullbacks, and their tight ends are a clear drop in quality from the limited version of Rob Gronkowski last season. This means it's unlikely that they'll suddenly be able to run the ball with Sony Michel.
Enter the 1-12 Cincinnati Bengals, the worst team in the NFL. Can the Patriots turn their offense around against this terrible team? And if not, should we all accept that this offense is simply "not good" and that any success of the team will rely entirely on the backs of the defense?
