Judges chapters 6-8 tell the tale of Gideon, one of the most notable of the major judges & one whom the Lord Himself called a “valiant warrior” (Judges 6:12). That greeting from God proves all the more remarkable because it came to Gideon while he was effectively in hiding. Indeed, Gideon’s initial call to courage can arouse faith in our hearts today, too, as we see how God moved Gideon past his fears, failures, & doubts into the place of peace found in trusting the Lord above all else.
