Sometimes patience shows up in the preparations we make in order to be ready to act wisely when a moment of truth arrives. Sometimes patience proves pivotal for taking the right action at that moment, courage to face the challenges posed, and trusting God in the process. And sometimes patience’s greatest reward is the celebration of achievement afforded when patience pays off in a victory secured. This Mother’s Day, we study a story that exemplifies all three of these stages of patience in preparation, action, & celebration, as embodied in the life of Esther, a Queen who trusted God “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).
