Patients with severe asthma, uncontrolled symptoms, and exacerbations are at risk of losing lung function over time. Despite the availability of numerous treatments, many patients with severe asthma remain uncontrolled. Evolving insights into the pathophysiology of severe asthma have led to the development of biologic therapies that target epithelial alarmins, and their use is not restricted by phenotype/endotype or biomarkers. In this activity, based on a recent live web broadcast, our experts will review the latest clinical data, including key insights from medical congresses up to and including ATS 2022, with respect to novel and emerging therapies and other factors that impact the selection of treatment for patients with severe asthma who continue to have uncontrolled disease despite treatment.
