Walter E. Suarez Becerra is a Peruvian musician who performs mostly folkloric/Andean music through wind instruments like the Quena & Zampoña. He has been part of various music groups and performed at the National Geographic, The Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian, Peruvian festivals, and various other venues in MD, VA, DC, NJ, MA & RI. Walter aims to uphold ancestral traditions and showcase Peruvian culture abroad. Walter has lived in the United States since 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland and a Masters in American Studies from Boston University. He is currently a Customer Research Analyst at the GEICO headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland.
