Community engagement is a massive challenge when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion. This session will evaluate what has not worked and focus on the learnings so pharma/biotech can more successfully engage with under-represented communities long term. Key topics include:
How can pharma have more of a presence in the community and what does that mean to patients? What are the best ways to build trust and gain community insights from patients where studies are implemented? What will lead patients to embrace it and utilize it and make this whole effort more sustainable? What does community engagement look like for different stakeholders (patients, advocacy, pharma)? What are those institutions that might already be there that can be built upon? How have community centers of excellence been able to recruit racial, ethnic minority populations to successfully get input into studies?
