In the last 30 years scientists have discovered more than 3500 planets that orbit stars other than our own sun. Through NASA’s Exoplanet Exploration Program, it is hoped that one day scientists will find habitable, Earth-sized planets around nearby stars, and continue their search for signs of life on those worlds. Phoenix Radio's Damien Lee caught up with two very special visitors to the University of Southern Queensland’s Springfield campus, who were here to see first hand the amazing work being undertaken by our Astronomy students.

Guests:
Dr Douglas Hudgins - Program Scientist for NASA’s Exoplanet Exploration Program
Dr David Ciardi - Chief Scientist of the NASA Exoplanet Science Institute at Caltech in California
Prof Brad Carter – Director of Centre for Astrophysics USQ
