27. Witches: Cherrylle Dell & the Connecticut Witch Trials (Halloween Series) - a podcast by Pink Collar Pod
from 2020-10-15T08:00
It’s still spooky season at Pink Collar and this week we’re talking about witches. Nathalie tells the story of Cherrylle Dell. Cherrylle and Scott Dell were married for over 20 years but had been going through some challenging times. Cherrylle began to pursue other relationships, while also accusing Scott of abusing their children. One night, Scott drank a bottle of wine gifted to him by Cherrylle under the guise that it would take him on a spiritual journey. Scott was found dead the next morning. Rachel then tells the story of the Connecticut witch trials, specifically looking at the cases of Alice Young, Mary Johnson, and Katherine Harrison. These lesser known trials involved women who were falsely accused by members of their community. Hundreds of years after the trials, the Connecticut government still refused to pardon those accused of witchcraft.
