Isaiah 6:1-4, Revelations 5:11-12, Revelations 4:2-3

The throne is a symbol of power and authority. It is part of the redemption and creative work of God.

Out of the throne comes power, peace, strength, glory, praise, and honour. Isaiah the prophet was one person who saw the throne and the sovereignty and holiness of the One who sits upon it. The train of the Lord’s robe filled the whole temple and Isaiah saw how humble and obedient the Seraphim were before God, proclaiming His holiness and glory. There were many others in the Bible who saw the throne of God and gave their own depiction of it. Prophet Micah, Job, the sons of Korah, Ethan, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, David, Daniel, and Apostle John all talk about the Lord’s mighty throne throughout the Bible as well. We know that anyone can sit on a chair, but only those of authority and prosperity can sit on a throne! Even when earthly thrones are empty, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords continues to sit on His throne in heaven forever. May we all see the magnificent throne of God!
