In this episode, Lindy Hughson, Managing Editor & Publisher of PKN Packaging News and Sally Williams, aka Sustainable Sally, discuss ethical consumerism and Sally's new Choice for Life platform.

Sally discusses her history with Brand Power and the factors that led to her transition to the Choice for Life, including recognising the rise of the conscious consumer. With surveys indicating more consumers than ever are including sustainability in their purchasing choices, it is clear that unsustainable brands are on the way out.

Lindy and Sally also discuss Unilever's new "BYO Container" refill station at the Moonee Ponds Coles store, consumer education, and scaling up this trial. This leads to further discussion of specific initiatives towards differentiating recyclable packaging through unique shapes and art work, such as Coca-Cola's fully recycled PET bottles and Smarties' sustainably sourced paper packaging.

Sally notes that consumers are looking for sustainable brands and recyclable packaging, which has resulted in Choice for Life helping consumers to find those brands that are progressing towards sustainability and a circular economy. The episode wraps with a discussion on the benefits Choice for Life can provide brands and agencies with promotion of their sustainable efforts.
