On the opening day of the National Summit on Women’s Safety on Monday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said not enough progress had been made on attitudes towards women, and sexual and domestic violence.

Mr Morrison attempted to highlight this during his keynote address to the summit, reading aloud from emails and letters women had sent him detailing their experiences.

Today on Please Explain, senior writer Wendy Tuohy joins Bianca Hall to discuss the event; growing calls for Aboriginal women and women from diverse cultures to be prioritised in discussions; and why young women are leading the way.
