The government’s attempt to push through controversial voter ID laws before the next election now hangs on a handful of crossbenchers.

Labor and the Greens are strongly opposed to the laws, which have been described as racist and discriminatory.The government now needs the support of One Nation, which has announced a boycott on government bills unless the government moves to block states imposing vaccine mandates.
