Prime Minister Scott Morrison and NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian stood together yesterday afternoon in Sydney to announce a $5 billion support package for businesses and workers affected by the current NSW COVID lockdown.

It was quite a departure, for a premier who a month ago was saying no more lockdowns, and a prime minister who has resisted calls for federal support for other states who have closed for business in the pandemic.

Today on Please Explain, the Herald’s state political editor Alexandra Smith joins Tory Maguire to discuss the package and what’s happening in Sydney.
