Hairstyling and PMU microblading have a lot more in common than you think! In today's episode, @homiegyrl_ shares her journey in becoming both a barber and an SMP artist. Specifically, she discusses the similarities between the two fields and how you can also delve into both!

Tune in :)

Meet Donna:

"Hi I’m Donna. I am a mother of 2 young kids, a wife, a salon shop owner of 14 years with over 20 staff that I manage.  I have been a hairstylist and barber for 25 years and now I specialize as a Scalp Micropigmentation Artist for the past 2 years.

Being a barber made it easy for me to transition into a SMP Artist as I understand facial shapes, fade transitions and follicle growth placements.  Having a full solid clientele as a barber also gave me the advantage to have many SMP Clients to start off with.  As their barber they already give me the trust with their looks so they were kind enough to be my models at the start of my SMP Career.

Having a big network in the hair industry also has helped spread awareness to this art and their curiosity into learning it.  I have taught my first 6 students this year and they all happen to be barbers in my community.  They also want to help their existing clients with this added service.

As a SMP Instructor, I wanted to create a brand new fake skin that other SMP Instructors can utilize for their own classes within North America.  Rather than your traditional single 3D Mannequin head, you get 10 heads on this flat surface to practice SMP Hairlines.  These full head practice skins also give you the opportunity to practice freckles, eyebrow shading, lip blushing, eyeliner tattooing and traditional fine line art work.

These skins are available for purchase on Amazon.com and another design made available for Eyebrows only.  120 pairs of eyebrows on 5 double sided fake skins with a bonus brown brow pencil and 10 silicone ring cups.  Perfect student kits made for Students and Instructors in mind".
