God is the great romantic—Scripture bursting with the story of his persistent, passionate efforts to win human hearts through the reve-lation of his love. Whether or not we are involved in a romantic human relationship, we are all the center of God’s personal affec-tion. “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself. ” Jeremiah 31:3 (NLT) “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:9–10 (NKJV) “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6–8 (ESV) Don’t make him wait: release your heart to the One who has always—will always—love you.
