God’s Timing is perfect even when we’re a little skeptical. If the Lord’s timing is perfect, then there is some waiting on our part. Whether a few hours or decades, there are some biblical principles on waiting that can encourage our heart and help us prove faithful as believing women in Christ.

The Lord's Perfect Timing

The inspiration for today’s episode comes from 2 Peter 3, my pastor’s sermon on Sunday, and the advent season.

Today’s take away is - THE LORD’S TIMING IS PERFECT

My timing is not so good.

But God’s timing - it’s always spot on. Perfect.

We can see it with the arrival of Christ! In Jeremiah - just like we talked about last week - at the right time God would send a Savior:

In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: ‘The LORD is our righteousness.’ “For thus says the LORD: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel, and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man in my presence to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to make sacrifices forever.” Jeremiah 33:15-18

And Romans 5:6 tells us: You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly."

God has a perspective and a wisdom and  a knowledge and a Sovereignty that we don’t have!

The arrival of Christ came at just the right time.
His death came at just the right time.
His resurrection three days later came at just the right time.
And his second arrival will be at just the right time.

Three wrong directions we can go when waiting

  1. We lose heart and get discouraged or become bitter and scoff - 1 Samuel 13
  2. We forget what we are waiting for - Second Coming 2 Peter 3
  3. We advance our own kingdom and agenda - Matthew 6:33

How to prove faithful while we wait on God's Perfect Timing

  1. Be diligent to be found in Him without blemish or spot 2 Peter 2:14
  2. Know the character of God 2 Peter 3:15
  3. Don't get carried away with the error of lawless people 2 Peter 3:15-17
  4. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ 2 Peter 3:18

Take Heart in the WAIT

God is teaching us how to endure waiting for Him to return by waiting for other things. The difference is that we can have hope in Christ and His promised return, knowing He will come back a the right time. God wants us to know Him and the wait allows us to know God-- His goodness and greatness.
