Luis J. Rodriguez is a chicano poet whose memoir “Always Running: La Vida Loca, Gang Days” was a national bestseller. In 2014 he was named Los Angeles poet laureate a position he held until 2016. He has been nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and has written everything from poetry and criticism to children’s books.
