Legitimate Political Discourse and the RNC - a podcast by Marist Poll

Last week, RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel said what happened at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th was "legitimate political discourse." The highest-ranking elected Republican in America, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was having none of it -- saying plainly it was an "insurrection." But is the RNC closer to the views of most Republican voters? And could it help stem the erosion of support for Democrats among suburban women?

It seems that, with each week, there's a new poll pitting hypothetical 2024 Presidential candidates. Sure, it's fun to speculate but do polls this far out have any value at all? Barbara suggests they do -- if they're reported correctly.

Finally, the only-in-February Fun Fact pits the Super Bowl against Valentine's Day. What fun!

About Poll Hub

Each week, Poll Hub goes behind the science to explain how polling works, what polls really show, and what the numbers really mean. Poll Hub is produced by the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, home of America’s leading independent college public opinion poll, the Marist Poll.

Lee Miringoff (Director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion), Barbara Carvalho (Director of the Marist Poll), and Jay DeDapper (Director of Innovation at the Marist Poll) dig deep to give you a look at the inner workings of polls and what they tell us about our world, our country, and ourselves.
