Sharon Katz: The Peace Train 2016 Tour Across America - a podcast by Jo Anne White

They say that music can bring people together, but can it really bring a whole country together? Sharon Katz has seen it happen!

 

Sharon Katz is a Grammy Nominated Musician, Humanitarian, and Music Therapist. She made history in 1992 by forming South Africa’s first, 500-voice multiracial choir and organized a courageous tour on board a train –The Peace Train – to promote a peaceful transition to democracy.

 

In 2015, the award winning documentary "When Voices Meet" was released, telling the story of The Peace Train’s original ride to promote unity throughout South Africa. This spawned a new venture: The  Peace Train Tour Across America (July 9-18, 2016), bringing together youth and adults of all backgrounds to sing about their shared values and hopes for a better future for all.
