Aaron Savka Aaron has been flying paramotors for less than 18 months but has had a love of aviation since seeing the Blue Angels perform in an airshow in the late 1970’s. Aaron spent six years as an Aviation Electrician/Avionics Technician in the Marine Corps working on several models of the McDonnell Douglas A-4. He obtained his PPL while stationed in Hawaii but found it hard to afford aircraft rental after becoming a broke college student studying Aviation Management at Southern Illinois University. After starting a contract embroidery business while in college and a family soon after, aviation was sidelined. Twenty-seven years later, Aaron still owns Thread FX and also works as the Business Manager for the Southern Illinois University Aviation Program. With a son serving in the Air Force and a daughter in college studying to become a nurse, the opportunity to get back into the air became a realistic goal.
