The idea of “name” in the Bible does not mean the label by which we are called. It is a reference to the whole person, the character and being of that person. We often close our prayers with the phrase “in Jesus name,” meaning we are praying with reference to his character, his nature, and his authority. This week we will look at Yeshua - Jesus, God’s Beloved Son. In the beginning of Genesis we see that Elohim created the world, within His name is the fullness of the Godhead (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). Genesis 1:26-27 says, let ‘us’ make man in our image. Jesus was fully God and fully man but He chose to lay down his deity to walk on earth as a human (son of Adam).
