Last week, the state of Florida surprised the college sports world with a last minute state legislative amendment that would have pushed the NIL law’s effective date from July 1, 2021 to July 1, 2022. Ultimately, an amendment was passed to restore the effective date to July 1, 2021, but it illustrated how fragile this NIL environment is. In this episode, Luke discusses what happened in Florida, gives an update on where NIL stands from a national perspective and reinforces the importance of student-athlete education when it comes to NIL.
