In this segment of “Real Talk and Conversation with Today’s Candidates” I am talking with former Candidate for Gwinnett Sheriff Floyd Scott. In these heightened times of tension with police, it was only befitting to bring on a candidate who was running to represent Gwinnett County as Sheriff and who is also a retired police officer to discuss his opinions on what’s taking place and to talk about his run for office. Floyd’s passion for law enforcement started as a teenager. What inspired him to get into law enforcement was an encounter he had when he was younger with a police officer which lead to something positive and the officer letting him and his friends go with some life lessons to take away from it. From that point on Floyd knew he wanted to serve and protect and put himself in a position to not only help the community but also serve as a leader for his country. He joined the military and retired honorably but the next step in life came at now moving into being an asset to the community through law enforcement. Floyd served 40 years in law enforcement and with his experience and knowledge, he decided it was time to run for office and work towards changing things at the top in Gwinnett County. I want to thank him again by joining me on this program to talk about his experience and hopefully have him back to talk about the steps going forward and how we can create a better relationship as a community with law enforcement officers.
