‘The Stand’ recap: Brad & Cort Talk Ep 1x01, “The End” - a podcast by Pure Fandom

The end is the beginning as CBS All Access kicks off its long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, ‘The Stand’. The post-apocalyptic drama jumps back and forth through time to give the audience an idea what exactly led to the demise of 7 billion people. The series veers somewhat from the novel and the 1994 tv mini-series by dropping the audience into the middle of the action and then bouncing back and forth between past and present. 

Hit play and listen in as Brad and Talk discuss the series premiere. What did you think of the first hour? They managed to fit in a lot of story. Was it disorienting jumping back and forth in the timeline of the story? Sure, but on future watches we’ve decided to try not thinking too hard on what has changed in this translation from page-to-screen.
