Kirsty Sword Gusmao — From human rights activist in the 90s to First Lady of Timor Leste, Kirsty Sword Gusmao has spent years advocating for better health, education and economic conditions for women in that proud but poverty-stricken new nation. To celebrate International Women’s Day, RACS Global Health Department invited Kirsty to share her experiences at a gathering of RACS staff and Fellows in Melbourne. This podcast, recorded immediately after the Melbourne event, shows fascinating insights into the determination of one woman to improve the lives of the women of Timor Leste.
