Thanks again to Mr. Tony Santana of Mob Hit Records, another artist was brought to my attention that I felt deserved praise, recognition, and a platform to promote their music. Human Barbie, the lo-fi indie project of Mr. Christopher Leopold Hackman, has music running through his veins. From his humble beginnings in Wyoming, his biggest musical influences were whatever was the pick of the month from mail order services from Columbia House. What it did was cultivate an interest in seeking his own artistic path, which led him to Los Angeles, CA where he’s been busy writing and recording for his band. Studying jazz bass and collaborating with like-minded musicians motivated him to create this project. From their first single “Nineteen80” to their recent full-length “Get A Life,” not one song disappointed me. Very friendly, very open, and with a warm disposition, I was honored to have Chris as a guest on the podcast to discuss his beginnings, where he is now, and what he will be doing. I suggest you check out his music - full of dynamics and dichotomy. There’s beauty in the sound, and a twist in the lyrics. All in all, a great sonic experience. I wish him nothing but the best.
