Born and raised in Homestead, Florida, Joe Calderwood was a practicing CPA before beginning his career as a serial entrepreneur, owning seven businesses so far. He lives in Western North Carolina with his spouse of three years—though the two have lived together 36 years, only recently the Supreme Court allowed them to marry.
