We welcome three special guests:

Lynn Vannucci is the Publisher and Executive Editor at Water Street Press, an independent, highly selective publisher not owned by a parent company or conglomerate. Lynn has been a part of the publishing industry since 1986 when her first novel, Coyote, was published by Bantam New Fiction. Lynn has since written a weekly newspaper column, non-fiction articles for various publications including the San Francisco Chronicle, romance fiction (under a pen name), and been included in an anthology of Italian-American women writers, The Voices We Carry (Guernica Press).

Sally Eckhoff, a painter and former critic for the Village Voice, was asked in 2008 why there were no first-person stories of artists in the book world. So she wrote one. F*ck Art (Let’s Dance), five years in the making, is a memoir of a decade of painting in the East Village of New York, from the Summer of Sam to the Tompkins Square Park riots. The book has been termed “priceless,” with “a firecracker intelligence…” There’s also a coloring-book version that brings downtown memories to life with vivid ink drawings of diners, bars, and local celebrities.

Michael Rose believes in the power of the documentary and non-fiction writing and the increasingly important role that independent filmmakers and authors play in our culture. Elvis Presley: A Moment in Time – 4 Days in '56 came about as part of a documentary he was producing about the untold story of Elvis’s early years. He uncovered a cache of never before seen photos that gave more insight into Elvis's evolution. Michael wrote a limited edition photo-driven book that sold out nd is now available as a digital book.
