Nannette Nocon, a naturalized American citizen born in the Philippines, immigrated to the US in 1976 with her mother and 4 siblings, four years after her father died. To finance her education, Nannette got college application fee waivers, scholarships, grants and worked. She graduated from Cornell University at age 19 and became a financial adviser at 22.
