Mentioned by the Greek physicians Galen (129 AD – 216 AD) and Dioscorides (40 AD – 90 AD), this philosophy has evolved a lot over the centuries. Although many use the Doctrine of Signatures primarily as a mnemonic device, it tells us a lot about cultural values and botanical connections that are shifting to fit our ever changing world.
