Sean Sheehan of Irish-based SevereMMA.com and the Severe MMA Podcast joined Joe Rizzo (@RearNakedChoke) and Jay Kelly (@JayKellyMMA) to answers questions about fellow Irishman Conor McGregor and what UFC 196 did for the countryĆ¢??s MMA scene. Sheehan (@SeanSheehanBA) and Andrew McGhanon host SevereMMA Podcast. They're on the front lines of covering MMA in The Emerald Isle, and Sheehan gave a fantastic firsthand perspective of the stumble of Ireland's most popular UFC fighter. Sheehan speculated about McGregor's ability to still sell out Croke Park, dished on who the UFC featherweight champion would likely fight next, talked about how the perception of Mystic Mac changed since McGregor lost to Nate Diaz, and chronicled Ireland's mainstream media coverage of the upset. Sheehan noted the Irish are quick to jump on the bandwagon whenever a combatant sings their praises, making Diaz and Poirier potentially popular draws for future cards there. Speaking of singing, Sheehan became the latest guest to get caught busting out a few bars on RNC Radio. Hear his rendition of Fields of Athenry ONLY right here.
