Shayna Baszler is not ready to leave MMA for good, but she is in the midst of a spectacular shift into professional wrestling. The Queen of Spades (@QoSBaszler) hung with Joe Rizzo (@RearNakedChoke) and talked everything from her training with Nattie Niedhart and the Bella Twins at the WWE Performance Center, to her friendship with Ronda Rousey and the Four Horsewomen on RNC Radio (@RNCRadio). Baszler recounted her matriculation into the pro wrestling scene and explained how she made the move there from MMA, noting the similarities and differences between the two. She still trains daily as an MMA fighter, but she is working for the Shimmer promotion, which she explained is similar to a wrestling version of Invicta FC. Baszler recently was allowed to train at the WWE Performance Center, and gave an amazing account of what happened behind the scenes with her friend Nattie, and how watching her train with the Bellas was at once awe-inspiring, motivational and poetic. How did the Four Horsewomen end up at SummerSlam? It had everything to do with a private message from CM Punk to the Queen of Spades, who gave a behind-the-scenes look at Rousey's throw of Triple H at Wrestlemania. While she moves closer to pro wrestling stardom, Baszler aspires for at least one more MMA fight, and she explained why. As a cornerwoman and friend, she also gave insight into the recent struggles of teammate Jessamyn Duke's recent struggles. RNC Radio is insightful, intelligent and fun.
