I felt that more explanation was needed on the subject of Gehinnom. We have examined what it means to realise one's potential...and its polar opposite. The burning shame of understanding that we could have been so much greater, is the burning fire of Gehinnom (or indeed the coldness of distance, in terms of lack of connection, for the same reason).

But we also firmly believe that it is not the end of the story. We know that that we are given a second chance. Once we have learned our lesson, albeit painfully, we get another go on earth, or the Neshama goes up to Shomayim. We do not subscribe to the primitive theory of Purgatory being a kind of callous, cruel joke, full of eternally pointless and teasing tasks. It is an opportunity to refine the soul, in the jail of She'ol (one of the terms used for Gehinnom).

Once a prisoner has served his time, he goes free. A slave, too, does the same. And those who perhaps have to serve time in the nether regions of Gehinnom, as a result of being slaves to the self, will have a chance to get out of She'ol too...
