Welcome

Thanks for tuning into Redeemer Al Ain’s online service. Our church is currently meeting in person with restrictions on Thursdays from 6:30–7:30pm at the Al Ain Evangelical Church Centre. (For more information about the restrictions click here). As pastors, we also understand that different people have different circumstances and comfort levels for in-person gatherings. We do not want to pressure anyone to attend who would not feel comfortable. We will continue to post the service online so that people can participate digitally.

In this service Pastor John Norris is preaching our final sermon in our Discipleship in a Pandemic mini-series: Family Discipleship.

Bible Reading

4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 6:4–9

  3. What are competing visions in our world and age concerning what families are for?

  4. If families are for discipleship, what does it mean when a family is broken?

  5. How do singles or parents without children factor into our discussion of family discipleship?

  6. What would you suggest to someone who wanted to start engaging their family in growing in following Christ, but didn’t know how?
