Soldier, Sailor Pescador- Aaron Reed - a podcast by Jeff Troutman

  Aaron Reed is an award-winning outdoor writer and Army veteran. He currently splits his time between his native Texas Gulf coast, where he drives a tugboat, and his home near the banks of the San Gabriel River in Georgetown, Texas. When he is not working, chances are you can find him knee-deep in a stream somewhere around Austin, often with his wife and one or more of his three boys, trying like heck to become a better fly fisherman. His book " will be released by Imbrifex Books in March, 2020.  A party to celebrate its publication will be held at a fly fishing hang-out in the greater Austin area on March 3, 2020. One of the very first emails I received from a listener was from this week’s guest Aaron Reed. I wish I could copy and paste the email he sent in this blog post or maybe recall some sort of quote that was inspiring to me to move forward with the podcast, but my bad memory and less than stellar email skills have left me nothing. I suppose like most good friendships, it’s hard to remember how they started. His words of encouragement have been a salve to the wounds of this insecure podcast host who started out with no a clue to what he was doing and did not know if anyone would even listen to what he had to say. Over the last year and half Aaron and I have corresponded and he’s made introductions and recommendations for some great guests that I otherwise would not have been able to make. Thank you Aaron.
