Harman Dayal of the Athletic joined the guys. Says the biggest part of the NYR game was snapping the losing streak. The team just needed to win so badly. Going 0-4 would not have been able to fly in this marketplace. They need to put last year in the rearview. Talked about the 3rd period scramble. Talked to the amount of shots the Canucks are giving up. Doesn’t think the Canucks will ever be an above average defensive team. There is merit to saying that 5 on 5 is trending up for this team. They are showing some stability. It’s about the special teams that need to work in their favour to get to the playoffs. Talked about the usage of Garland on the PP. Talked about the dangers of putting Hamonic and Schenn together. Expected TM to be rusty after the time off. Didn’t like the look of the pair. Overall the team played a strong game 5 on 5 vs NYR. Talked about Podkolzin and his effort vs NYR. Harm thinks he is becoming more comfortable as every game passes. Talked about where he would play on the PP if an opportunity came up.
