Jim Donovan M.Ed., uses the natural benefits of sound, music, and rhythm to help people live healthier lives.

As a founding member of the 90’s multi-platinum band Rusted Root, Jim toured the world and sold over 3 million records as he co-wrote and performed their hit song “Send Me on My Way.” His music has been featured in blockbuster Hollywood movies (Twister, Ice Age) and popular TV ads (Enterprise). Jim rocked arena and amphitheater stages everywhere from 1994 to 2005 with music legends such as Carlos Santana, The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, and members of Led Zeppelin.

As a musician and wellness facilitator, Jim has led over 3,000 national and international sound healing events since 1995. He’s editor of the Sound Health newsletter, host of the Sound Health podcast, and is a professor at Saint Francis University.

His TEDx presentation titled “How to Trick Your Brain into Falling Asleep” has been viewed over 4 millions times and his Sound Health newsletter has over 36,000 daily readers.

Jim is the author of Saved by Sound – One Musician’s Story of Illness and the Healing Sounds That Saved Him, and Drum Circle Leadership. He lives outside Pittsburgh with his wife and three children.
