Beyond Blue has recorded a spike in calls to their mental health services, with people at medium to high risk of suicide contacting the service 50 per cent more in the first seven weeks of NSW's lockdown.

And as COVID-19 vaccination rates in Australia surge, Beyond Blue Chair Julia Gillard is warning that the mental health toll is likely to persist well after lockdowns lift.
