The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine has reached over a billion doses worldwide but in Australia the rollout has been derailed, due in part to confused messaging and changing advice about the vaccine's safety.

But AstraZeneca's Australian/NZ president says that while the risk of blood clots is low, AstraZeneca and Pfizer are similarly effective against preventing ICU admissions, severe disease and death - even against the Delta variant.
