Restrictions placed on the unvaccinated have fueled a surge in vaccination rates across the country leaving federal politicians split over the state-imposed mandates.

The Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Queenslanders should be allowed to "get a cup of coffee in Brisbane regardless of whether you've had a vaccine or not" once the state reaches 80 per cent double dose vaccination, but European epidemiologists are warning against easing restrictions too early.
