The Morrison Government is seeking to circumvent a court ruling that extends Freedom of Information laws to National Cabinet.

An array of legal and human rights groups have warned that the public's right to know about a raft of policies and deliberations would be severely curtailed and the proposed changes to the FOI laws would be detrimental to democracy.
