New Zealand is reviewing its terror laws after a Sri Lankan man, inspired by Islamic State, attacked shoppers at an Auckland supermarket last week, critically injuring three and injuring four others.

Authorities had been trying to deport the man for years and he was under constant police surveillance, with officers just metres away when the attack happened.
