The Rwandan Government has defended the judicial process behind the conviction of Hotel Rwanda hero Paul Rusesabagina on terror charges.

There has been international condemnation of the trial and 25 year jail term handed down for the outspoken government critic and former hotelier, who was credited with saving more than a thousand lives during Rwanda's 1994 genocide.
