Australia's hotel quarantine system is just over a year old and despite some well-publicised breaches, the concept has been mostly successful in stopping COVID-19 from getting into the country.

For some countries, trying to force people into a small room for 14 days of quarantine would be an unpopular choice, but there are some theories about why Australians have so readily accepted the concept.
