There has been a further drop in new cases in the Covid-19 Delta outbreak. On Wednesday 15 new cases were reported, all in Auckland.
The Crowne Plaza hotel MIQ facility in Auckland CBD, believed to be ground zero for the outbreak, is reopening for guests, after an investigation failed to find the virus' exact route out.
Meanwhile Middlemore Hospital needs reinforcements after 29 staff have been stood down, including 11 doctors and 13 registered nurses. as they're close contacts of a Covid-19 case.
The man was left on a ward with other patients while waiting on his test result.
Now four wards are closed to new admissions. Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins talks to Lisa Owen.
