Team New Zealand has tacked away from a big chunk of money offered by the government, and could be headed off-shore to defend the America's Cup.
The government has confirmed it offered up a $99 million package to help keep the Cup here, but that's been rejected.
And from Thursday Team NZ's free to negotiate with other countries interested in playing host.
