New Zealand Rugby has revealed 50 Hamilton-based players relocated to Cambridge last night before the city went back into lockdown.
But the chief executive of Waikato Rugby is reassuring the public they have done things safely and within the rules.
The mens and womens NPC teams are operating under strict Covid-19 protocols at a facility in Cambridge, where they will remain until tests conducted yesterday come back negative.
Waikato Rugby chief executive Carl Moon says they were in immediate contact with NZR when the news broke yesterday of cases in the region.
